FileSorcery has no accounts, no analytics, no cookies and no tracking of any kind. It asks you for nothing and stores nothing about you. The rest of this page explains what that means precisely, including the one thing it does keep and the one thing it cannot avoid.
Your files
Your files are never uploaded. Every conversion on this site runs inside your own browser, on your own machine, using code the page has already downloaded. A file you drop here is read into memory, converted, and handed back to you as a download.
This is not a policy so much as a fact about how the site is built. FileSorcery is a set of static files - there is no server here that could receive a file, because there is no server here that does anything but hand you the page. Close the tab and every trace of what you converted is gone, including from this site's point of view, which never had one.
The practical consequence: nobody can hand over your files in response to a request, a breach, or a subpoena, because nobody ever had them.
What this site stores on your device
One thing. If you open the What can I convert? panel, the site remembers that you left it open, so it is still open on the next page. That preference is a single entry in your browser's local storage, on your machine, and it is never transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data for filesorcery.com removes it.
There are no cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no third-party scripts of any kind. The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network, so simply visiting a page here does not tell anybody else that you did.
What the site itself collects
Nothing. There is no analytics package, no error reporting service, no newsletter, no contact form and no log this site keeps or reads.
What the host necessarily sees
One piece of honesty that most privacy policies skip. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and to deliver any web page at all a host has to receive the request - which includes your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser's user-agent string. That is true of every website that has ever existed, and it happens before any of this site's own code runs.
Cloudflare handles that request data as the hosting provider, under its own privacy policy. It is not something FileSorcery collects, and there is no log of visitors kept here. It also has nothing to do with your files, which never leave your device and so are never part of any request.
Children
This site collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, so there is nothing collected from children either. No account is possible and no information is ever requested.
Your rights over your data
If you are used to reading these, this is where a site explains how to request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. There is nothing held here to copy, correct or delete. If you would like that confirmed in writing, the address below reaches a real person.
If any of this changes
FileSorcery is free, and one day it may carry advertising to stay that way. Advertising would mean a third party running code on these pages, which would genuinely change what is described above.
If that happens, this page will be rewritten to say exactly what changed before it takes effect, not after. The promise about your files - that they are converted on your device and never uploaded - is the point of the whole project and is not on the table.
